Superman 2025

Relative, Louisa Krause, recently posted on Instagram that she appears in the new Superman movie (2025). 

Louisa has appeared in many movies and television shows.  I try to watch any family related movies and tv shows when I can.  I've really enjoyed some of them.

In Superman she plays Sapphire Stagg girlfriend to Metamorpho and although she only makes a brief appearance my fingers are crossed that her character will be seen in any future movies.

To date the movie has made $600 million, about three times their budget so I think the chances are high for a sequel. 

Louisa and I are related through our maternal lines and we share Pennsylvania Welsh ancestry.  We're 5th cousins.

Roger Repoz: Major League Baseball Outfielder

Repoz, who grew up in Bellingham and who has lived in Fullerton, Calif., for nearly 30 years, prowled the outfield for the New York Yankees for a season in the mid-1960s.

Among his teammates were several players often mentioned as part of a long list of Yankee legends: Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Elston Howard, Joe Pepitone, Whitey Ford, Clete Boyer and Tony Kubek.

Repoz's journey to the top of the professional baseball world began when he played prep ball for Bellingham High School and collegiately at Western Washington University. For the Vikings, he was the Most Valuable Player at the 1959 NAIA national tournament as Western advanced to the national quarterfinals. He was primarily a pitcher in his college days, but was an outfielder during his pro career.

The left-hander was twice named to the all-Evergreen Conference team, and in 1960 he was drafted by the Yankees. He reached the big club for a week in 1964, then began a seven-year stretch in the majors in 1965.

This property located in Sebastopol, California was purchased 47 years ago in 1976 by Donald and Helen

Rogers. The property formerly belonged to the famed Peanuts artist, Charles Schulz, it was his studio and consisted of large red wood trees, 8 acres of land and a four-hole golf course.

I was searching through some old Oil City newspapers online when I came across an obituary.  The obituary was for my great uncle Bert Harry Rogers.  To my surprise I discovered that even though he passed away at 24 years of age of TB he had been married and had two sons!  All these years I had thought he was single when he passed away.
The search was on, if he had two sons I wondered if any information about them could be found.  My first search turned up that Bert's first son Bert Jr had passed way in California.  Then I managed to locate his second son, Don.  After some additional digging I was able to locate Don's son.  I managed to find an email address for Don's son and sent an email with some family details.

Next thing I know I had a response and he knew of my great grandfather Frank Rogers!  I was told that his father Don wanted to talk to me so I phoned and we spent more than an hour and a half on the phone.  It was great!  I've since spoken with Bert Jr's son, and Don's children.  The family is alive and well and we have new 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cousins!

A brick wall as it's called in genealogy has started to fall for the Rogers family!

A couple weeks ago I decided to search the familysearch.org website to see if there was anything new. There sure was, the had the images for two of Frank J Rogers my great grandfathers marriages and two images of my 2nd great grandparents marriage, Harry Lewis Rogers and Carrie Fisher. The later provided me with the names of my 3rd great grand parents, Joseph J. Rogers and Elizabeth Lewis. I was also able to locate the death certificate for Joseph J. Rogers who passed away in Hamilton, Ontario.

I decided to subscribe to a website called newspaperarchive.com and so far it has been well worth the money. I've located obituaries for various branches of the family including the Rogers family of Oil City, PA.

I have also been in touch with a new cousin related on the Lewis side of the family.
